The City of Golden holds its general elections in odd numbered years on the first Tuesday of November (thatís November 3, 2015).

This General Election is coordinated with Jefferson County Elections and are mail ballot.

To participate in the election you must be a registered voter in the City of Golden. To get a mail ballot you must be registered by October 26th, but you can still register and vote by going to the County Courthouse right up to the day of the election itself, November 3rd.

Just as a reminder this year there will be a City election for District 1 and District 2 City Councilors and for Mayor.

Mayor - The Mayor functions as an "at large" City Councilor, presides at Council meetings, and is the public face of the City.

There are two candidates running for this position, the incumbent Mayor Marjorie Sloan is running against Chris Darr.

City Councilors - The 7 City Councilors vote on City ordinances, establish City policy, and approve development projects. They make the big decisions!

District 1 (south half of town) - Saoirse Charis-Graves, the incumbent District 1 Councilor is running against Paul Haseman.

District 2 (north half of town) - Marcie Miller, the incumbent District 2 Councilor is not running for re-election. There are three candidates for this upcoming open seat: Casey Brown, Mikey Sheridan, and Lauree Valverde are official candidates and are contending for this position

The Golden Good Government League is presently interviewing each of the candidates that are running in this yearís election. At the conclusion of the interviewing process, we will identify each of the three candidates that we will be supporting for these offices.

We want to take this opportunity to thank all seven of the candidates that have chosen to run in this yearís election. We recognize that it is big commitment and frequently results in lost time with family and friends in other activities.

Stay tuned in on this webpage for further news of our involvement in this yearís election as well as our candidate recommendations for each of the offices. Should you have questions regarding the election, our involvement or recommendations, please contact the Golden Good Government League by accessing us at and providing us your name and the means with which we can contact you.

Note: There are two additional candidates that may or may not make this list depending on legal review. This page will be updated accordingly by August 29, 2015.
